Both teams had a 7 - 11 record. The Bulls won their last game following an eleven game losing streak. The Heat are now suffering their losing streak at the wrong time of the season. Both teams are also representing the Eastern Division. With the Playoffs scheduled to begin on Monday, 11 July 2016, the Bulls will meet the Bama Tru Ballers in the first round and the Heat will meet the defending champions (Celtics).
This game started at 1:00 P.M. The starting lineup for the the Bulls were: #10 Desi Johnson, #23 James Daniels, #33 Ian Trowers, #45 Jimmy Foster, and #32 Lester Hood.
The starters for the Heat were: #11 Norman King, #15 Johnny Sanchez, #14 Tim Elder, #8 Antonio Anthony, and #4 Bryan Scott.
The Officials were Michael Taylor and Royzell Smith.
The Game started with the Heat's Bryan Short tipping the ball to Antonio Anthony for an immediate 2-point jumper. It was evident that the Heat came to give their all. The Bulls responded with two points and four early free throws made by James Daniels and Lester Hood. The officials were quick on the whistles - causing the teams to rack up early fouls. The Bulls committed eight team fouls resulting in three points for the Heat. The Bulls' Lester Hood was in foul trouble early in the half. The scores were tied at 12 points with 11:26 remaining in the first half. That was the only timeout called during the first half. The Heat made every effort to get ahead in the game, even if it meant shoot'em if you got'em. The Bulls were led by James Daniels with 12 first half points. With this buy-in to share the ball, seven Bulls were entered into the scoring roster. Ian Trowers (#33) scored 6 points, #00 Marcus Watkins scored 6 points, #32 Lester Hood scored 5 points, #11 Bernard Jones scored 4 points, #45 Jimmy Foster and #10 Desi Johnson scored 2 points. The second half presented similar scoring results. The Bulls scored 34 points behind the shooting of Marcus Watkins with 14 points. Effective ball distribution kept seven scorers in the books. That is a big improvement for the Bulls. Antonio Anthony continued to lead the Heat with 10 points. At 15:46, of the second half, the Bulls had secured a 43 - 29 lead. With 4:43 remaining in the game, the Bulls stayed on-track and pushed the lead to 62 - 38. The Bulls went on to defeat the Heat 71 - 46. The Bulls committed six team fouls , in the second half, and the Heat committed five.
