"Where there's a Will" is a very appropriate title for this article because Willie Tennyson has really brought a tremendous effort and commitment to the Kingdom Ballers.  It is unfortunate that I have not been able to record what centers really do in this league, but I can tell you that Willie Tennyson (the Collegiate Hall of Famer) has given the Kingdom Ballers an opportunity to enjoy the taste of victory with his defiant defense.  No team can overlook his incredible timing to block shots.  If you drive for a shot and not have to alter your shot, Willie Tennyson was not there.  I had to start this commentary by giving Willie Tennyson the credit he deserves because it can be dismissed by all the scorers.

On 11 June 2016, the Kingdom Ballers and Nets entered the North Highland Assembly of God's Church Gymnasium to assess where they are at this point of the season.  The Nets are the #1 seed in the West and the Kingdom Ballers are the #3 seed (but most improved team) in the West.  The Nets loss by 20-points to another developing team, the Bama Tru Ballers, on 9 June 2016 that dropped their record to 11 - 3.  Now, they are approaching the game with the Kingdom Ballers on a mission to recover and send a message to everybody that they are still the powerhouse coming out of the West.  On the other hand, the Kingdom Ballers are adjusting to each other and working hard at getting the respect they deserve after winning four of their last five games.  When Willie Tennyson and Tony Campbell joined the Kingdom Ballers they were 0 - 9 and every team saw them as an automatic plus in their winners' column.  Now, the Kingdom Ballers are sporting a 4 - 10 record.

The starting lineup, for the Kingdom Ballers, consisted of:  #24 Tony Campbell, #11 Wason Davis, #22 Antonio Harris, #96 Shederal Hughes, and #0 Willie Tennyson.  The starting lineup, for the Nets, consisted of:  #21 Keith LaFavor, #32 Willie Walker, #22 Willie Filmore, #42 Tony Reese, ad #45 Lamont Shuford.

The game started with the Kingdom Ballers winning the tipoff followed by a traveling violation.  The Nets started with the same game plan, as usual: play hard and fast.  That did not work with the defense the Kingdom Ballers had in-store for them.  Every shot and rebound were challenged that led to the Kingdom Ballers having a 19 - 6 lead at 10-minutes remaining in the first half.  With Willie Tennyson blocking, rebounding, and altering shots, the guards and Shederal Hughes (Forward) were able to do their thing on offense.  Shederal Hughes (#96) made four 3-pointers to lead the Kingdom Ballers with 14 points.  He was accompanied by Wason Davis (#11) with 12 points and Tony Campbell (#24) with 10 points.  By 8-minutes remaining in the first half, the Nets were behind 26 - 11.  The Kingdom Ballers committed four team fouls and the Nets committed three team fouls.  Keith LaFavor (#21) led the Nets with 11-points (three from 3-point range).  No other teammate scored more than six points and those points came from Tony Reese (#42).  The Kingdom Ballers were able to take the speed and attack mode out of the Nets.  The first half ended with the Kingdom Ballers 39 and the Nets 30.

The second half was a different monster for both teams.  While the Nets were trying to speed their game up to score quick points, the Kingdom Ballers began to show fatigue.  Willie Tennyson did not get a break, all game, in an effort to guide his team to victory.  The banging of bodies and speed of the game were definitely taking affect on the team's endurance.  Fortunately, for the Kingdom Ballers, Shederal Hughes brought another round of shots with him.  He kept his team afloat with 15-points.  No other Baller scored more than three points.  The Nets could not muster up enough points to overcome their deficit.  Keith LaFavor (#21) led the Nets with 8 second half points and they decided to pull him out of the game.  LaFavor connected on five 3-pointers and  Shuford was held to 7 second half points.  No other player scored four points.  With 1:37, remaining in the game, the Kingdom Ballers were holding on to a 60 - 55 point lead.  They would go on to add three points versus one point for the Nets.  The Kingdom Ballers scored 24 second half points and the Nets scored 26.  The Kingdom Ballers overcame the Nets' run and collected another victory 63 - 56.  The players, of both teams, left every ounce of energy on the court.  I appreciated their hard effort.

The scorers, for the Kingdom Ballers, were:  #96 Shederal Hughes with 29 points, #11 Wason Davis with 15 points, #24 Tony Campbell with 11 points, #0 Willie Tennyson with 6 points, and #22 Antonio Harris with 2 points.

The scorers, for the Nets, were:  #21 Keith LaFavor with 19 points, #32 Willie Walker with 9 points, #45 Lamont Shuford with 8 points, #22 Willie Filmore with 6 points, #25 Trea Tells with 6 points, #42 Tony Reese with 6 points, and #19 Santonio Howard with 2 points.
