On 9 June 2016, the 3 - 9 Bama Tru Ballers gave the 11 - 2 Nets a taste of their own medicine by coming out of the blocks in the attack mode.  With turmoil always brewing inside the Nets' camp, the Bama Tru Ballers were poised to challenge the Nets with their almost complete roster present.  This was the first game of the evening.

The Bama Tru Ballers' starting lineup consisted of:  #00 Cleotis Brown, #96 David Hardge, #13 Navarro Davis, #44 Chris Watson, and #8 Jeffrey Lemon.  The Nets' starting lineup consisted of:  #21 Keith LaFavor, #32 Willie Walker, #42 Tony Reese, #30 Rodney Patrick, and #45 Lamont Shuford.

The game started with the Nets receiving control of the tip-off, but they did not score.  The Bama Tru Ballers jumped out with three consecutive 3-pointers that started with Cleotis "No Limit Soldier" Brown.  The Nets were not prepared for the smothering game plan the Bama Tru Ballers had in-store for them.  Michael Johnson put in the right players - at the right time - to control the offensive and defensive boards against the Nets' "High Flying" Lamont Shuford and Tony Reese.  At 16:20, of the first half, the Nets requested a 30-second timeout.  The Bama Tru Ballers were already holding a 14 - 2 lead.  The Nets requested a "Full" timeout at 11:58 and the the lead was increased to 25 - 2.  The Nets could not handle 18-points from Cleotis Brown with 12 of those points coming from 3-point range.  Navarro Davis (#13) joined Brown and added 14 points with 6 points coming from 3-point range.  The Bama Tru Ballers scored on nine 3-point shots.  Tony Reese (#42) managed to score on two 3-point shots - for the Nets.  No Nets' players scored more than 6 points.  The Bama Tru Ballers were disciplined and stayed within the game plan.  Everybody played their individual role to help the team win.  The Nets committed seven team fouls as opposed to four by the Bama Tru Ballers.  The first half ended with the Bama Tru Ballers leading the Nets 47 - 22.

The second half was a little different for the Bama Tru Ballers.  With the lead they had accrued, some Nets' players wanted to show their worth by attempting to assert themselves outside of their area of concentration.  They lost discipline and started making turnovers and shooting without scoring.  That allowed the Nets to work the lead down to 10 points, with 8:52 remaining in the game.  You cannot leave room for Lamont Shuford, Willie Walker, and Tony Reese to operate because they will take advantage of every shortfall you may have.  The Nets outscored the Bama Tru Ballers 31 - 26 in the second half behind the shooting of Tony Reese and Lamont Shuford.  Tony Reese scored 11 points and Lamont Shuford scored 10.  Though Bama lost focus, they still had Cleotis Brown to keep them grounded with 11 second half points.  Navarro Davis (#13) was able to squeeze in 7 points.  The Nets' struggled with fouls.  Keith LaFavor fouled out; Lamont Shuford accumulated four personal fouls; and Rodney Patrick (#30) was hit with three personal fouls.  The Nets committed 10 second half team fouls.  The Bama Tru Ballers struggled with fouls, as well.  Navarro Davis (#13) accumulated four personal fouls and Alaster Anderson (#5) was tagged with three personal fouls.  The Bama Tru Ballers committed seven second half team fouls.  The scores were never tied.  The Bama Tru Ballers did regroup and went on the defeat the Nets (by 20) 73 - 53.

The Bama Tru Ballers' scorers were:  #00 Cleotis Brown with 29 points, #13 Navarro Davis with 21 points, #96 David Hardge with 11 points, #5 Alaster Anderson with 7 points, #44 Chris Watson with 3 points, and #8 Jeffery Lemon with 2 points.

The Nets' scorers were:  #42 Tony Reese with 17 points, #45 Lamont Shuford with 16 points, #32 Willie Walker with 8 points, #30 Rodney Patrick with 7 points, and #25 Trea Tells with 5 points.
