On 6 June 2016, the Kingdom Ballers shookup the league when they defeated the defending champions, Celtics, 69 - 68 in a battle to the finish.  While everybody else was paying attention to the change in the Kingdom Ballers, after Willie Tennyson and Tony Campbell joined the team and sealed some weak spots, the Celtics continued to view them as the team that provides all other teams with a number in the winners' column.  That mistaken identity caused the Celtics to fall to the 2 - 9 Kingdom Ballers.

The starting lineup, for the Kingdom Ballers, consisted of:  #24 Tony Campbell, #11 Wason Davis, #22 Antonio Harris, #96 Shederal Hughes, and #3 Christopher Mathis.  The starting lineup, for the Celtics, consisted of:  #24 Jerel Jackson, #23 Tim Sanks, #2 Steve Woodson, #8 Jerald Mahone, and #00 Ralph Mathews.

The first half started with the Celtics receiving first possession.  Both teams were pumped up and ready for battle as they tied scores at 5 and 10 early in the game.  As both teams fought for points and control on defense, it was amazing to see the adjustments being made.  The Celtics began to capitalize on the Kingdom Ballers' slow reaction to protect the basket by sneaking players through the backdoor for points.  The Kingdom Ballers were responding with size around the basket and accuracy from the 3-point arc.  The Kingdom Ballers flipped the script on the Celtics by leading in the 3-point category.  The Kingdom Ballers scored on seven 3-pointers as opposed to three from the Celtics.  Tony Campbell (#24), Wason Davis (#11), Shederal Hughes (#96), and Antonio Harris (#22) really challenged the defense of the Celtics by leading the Kingdom Ballers to a 36 - 33 first half advantage.  The Celtics', Jerel Jackson (#24) and Tim Sanks (#23), did all they could - with 24 combined points - to remind the Kingdom Ballers of their presence, but it didn't work.  The Celtics committed two team fouls and the Kingdom Ballers committed five team fouls.

Things got very interesting in the second half as the Celtics busted out with a six point run to establish a lead of 42 - 36.  The Celtics took the lead and held it for most of the second half.  When the Celtics called their first and only timeout, they were leading the Kingdom Ballers 58 - 55.  The Celtics were working their magic by receiving scores from six players.  The Celtics' big three (Jerel Jackson, Tim Sanks, and Steve Woodson) were held to 22 combined points.  Tim Sanks and Steve Woodson scored 8 points, each.  Jerel Jackson scored 6 points.  The Kingdom Ballers had two of their big three to score in double-figures:  Wason Davis with 11 points and Tony Campbell with 13 points.  Shederal Hughes (#96) contributed with 7 second half points.  With 1:02 remaining in the game, the Kingdom Ballers called their third timeout of the game.  They were trailing the champions 64 - 68.  Thirty-seconds later the Kingdom Ballers would take a 1-point lead and give the Celtics their third loss of the season.  The Celtics committed six team fouls and the Kingdom Ballers committed four team fouls.  The Celtics did not have any players in foul trouble.  The Kingdom Ballers had two players in foul trouble:  #11 Wason Davis with three fouls and #22 Antonio Harris with four personal fouls.  The Celtics used only one timeout during the entire game.  The Kingdom Ballers were ecstatic as they left the floor rocking a 3 - 9 record.

The Kingdom Ballers' scorers were:  #24 Tony Campbell with 25 points, #11 Wason Davis with 20 points, #96 Shederal Hughes with 14 points, #22 Antonio Harris with 8 points, and #3 Christopher Mathis with 3 points.

The Celtics' scorers were: #23 Tim Sanks with 22 points, #24 Jerel Jackson with 16 points, #2 Steve Woodson with 13 points, #00 Ralph Mathews with 10 points, #8 Jerel Mahone with 4 points, and #4 Lorenzo Johnson with 3 points.
