On 2 June 2016, the Bulls improved their record to 6 - 6 after defeating the Hawks 72 - 63 at North Highland Assembly of God's church gymnasium.  The Bulls' starting lineup consisted of #10 Desi Johnson, #22 James Dix, #33 Ian Trowers, #28 Bryant Adams, and #23 James Daniels.  The Hawks' starting lineup consisted of #23 Yohance Thompson, #0 Michael Smith, #25 Roderick Williams, #11 Kenyatta Hardge, and #34 Ernest Adams.

It was a very exciting game between two teams fighting to get beyond .500 in the winners' column.  The Bulls entered the game with a 5 - 6 record and the Hawks matched it with a 5 - 7 record.  Both teams had four players to contribute to scoring in the first half.  Jimmy "Champion" Foster (#45) led the Bulls with 14 points, #23 James Daniels followed with 8 points, #22 James Dix added 5 points, and #11 Bernard Jones dropped in 3 points from beyond the arc.  The Hawks' Ernest Adams and Kenyatta Hardge were determined to lead their team to victory by combining for 22, first half, points.  Roderick Williams (#25) battled for 4 points and #0 Michael Smith hustled for 2 points.  The Bulls committed five team fouls versus one team foul from the Hawks.  The Bulls led at the end of the first half 32 - 29.

Both teams entered the second half ready to get down to business.  They wanted a victory and they fought for it!!  All players improved in the scoring category.  Everything was left on the court, as it should be.  The Bulls', Jimmy "Champion" Foster and #23 James Daniels combined for 28 of the team's 40 points.  The Hawks, Ernest Adams (#34) and Kenyatta Hardge (#11) led a charge of their own by combining for 23 second half points.  It was evident that the winner would have to outlast their opponent because their was no sign of a "Tap Out" coming from any player.  You can see, by the number of team fouls, that the Bulls and Hawks showed up to win.  The Bulls committed four team fouls and the Hawks committed eight team fouls.  The Bulls finally closed the door on the Hawks and defeated them 72 - 63.

The Bulls' scorers were:  #45 Jimmy Foster with 29 points, #23 James Daniels with 21 points, #22 James Dix with 13 points, #23 Bryant Adams with 4 points, #11 Bernard Jones with 3 points, and #33 Ian Trowers with 2 points.

The Hawks' scorers were: #34 Ernest Adams with 23 points, #11 Kenyatta Hardge with 22 points, #25 Roderick Williams with 8 points, #0 Michael Smith with 7 points, and #23 Yohance Thompson with 3 points.

SIDE NOTE:  It is time for all teams/players to evaluate their team's strategy for the playoffs.  You must study the teams at the top of your respective divisions, if you intend to move to the next round.  The Nets are leading the Western Division with a record of 10 - 2 and the Celtics are leading the Eastern Division with a record of 9 - 2.  We have the best group of teams that we have ever had in the National Old School Basketball League.  This is the first time that we have had seven teams with an equal chance to win the National Title.  The separation will come from preparation.  Know your players and trust their abilities.  No player is on a team with the mission of assuring a loss for their team.  A "Team" will defeat an "Individual" on any day.  Even if you are the top scorer, it took a team of players to pass you the ball.
