On 31 May 2016, we witnessed a battle between the NOSBL's two Ballers: The Bama Tru Ballers and the Kingdom Ballers.  The Bama Tru Ballers held a slight edge in the win/loss columns with a 2 - 8 record compared to a 2 - 9 record for the Kingdom Ballers.  Both teams are improving with each game.  The league has finally reached the point where any team can win on any given night.  They are that balanced.

This truly was a "battle" of the Ballers.  The Bama Tru Ballers maintained a consistent advantage over the Kingdom Ballers by playing team basketball.  Eight Bama Tru Ballers played quality minutes and added to the success of the team.  Their opponents, the Kingdom Ballers, thought they could do better with five major players playing the complete game with four players waiting to play on the bench.  The previous two victories must have put a chip on the shoulders of the Kingdom Ballers.

The game started with the Kingdom Ballers winning the tip-off.  Both teams were fresh and active as they fought for a slight advantage.  They were tied twice, in the first half, at 12 and 15.  Made free throws gave the Bama Tru Ballers the advantage they needed to end the first half with a 33 - 29 point lead.  The Kingdom Ballers committed seven team fouls and the Bama Tru Ballers committed five team fouls.  Six Bama Tru Ballers scored in the first half.  They were led by #00 Cleotis "No Limit Soldier" Brown with 12 points and #13 Navarro Davis with 7 points.  Four Kingdom Ballers scored in the first half.  They were led by #1 Tony Campbell with 13 points and #96 Shederal Hughes with 11 points.

The second half resumed with the same approach by both teams.  The Bama Tru Ballers would continue to play team ball by using the bench and the Kingdom Ballers would play as if they only had five players.  The teams' "Big Men" held each other down and left the scoring to the guards and forwards.  Cleotis Brown (Bama Tru Ballers) scored 6 points and Willie Tennyson (Kingdom Ballers) scored 3 points.  That left room for #13 Navarro Davis to lead the Tru Ballers with 10 points and for #11 Michael Johnson score 6 points off two 3-pointers.  The Kingdom Ballers' Tony Campbell did all he could to will his team to victory, but they were willing to follow his lead.  Campbell led his team with 13 points and #96 Shederal Hughes contributed 7 points to the cause.  The Kingdom Ballers committed nine team fouls and the Bama Tru Ballers committed six team fouls.  It was truly an amazing game as both teams tied the score at 46 and 49 points - down the stretch.  The Bama Tru Ballers scored 27 second half points compared to 25 by the Kingdom Ballers.  The Bama Tru Ballers improved their record to 3 - 8 with 60 - 54 victory over the Kingdom Ballers.

The Bama Tru Ballers' scorers were: #00 Cleotis Brown with 18 points, #13 Navarro Davis with 17 points, #11 Michael Johnson with 9 points, #3 Darrell Willis with 8 points, #96 David Hardge with 6 points, and #8 Jeffery Lemon with 2 points.

The Kingdom Ballers' scorers were: #1 Tony Campbell with 26 points, #96 Shederal Hughes with 18 points, #0 Willie Tennyson with 7 points, and #11 Wason Davis with 3 points.
