The Kingdom Ballers returned to North Highland Assembly of God's Gymnasium in hope of winning two consecutive games. They were 0 - 9 before acquiring Willie Tennyson and Tony Campbell from the 76ers. Now, they are sporting a 2 - 9 record after defeating the NHA Hawks on Thursday, 26 May 2016. Willie Tennyson did what he does best: blocking shots, scoring when necessary, rebounding and altering layups. He has really given this team balance along with its supporting cast.
The starting lineup, for the Kingdom Ballers, were #31 Willie Haynes, #22 Antonio Harris, #96 Shederal Hughes, #3 Christopher Mathis, and #0 Willie Tennyson. The starting lineup, for the Hawks, were #34 Ernest Adams, #21 Frank Wilcox, #25 Roderick Williams, #0 Michael Smith, and #11 Kenyatta Hardge.
The Hawks', Kenyatta Hardge, was very active in the paint. He found a way to score against the defense of the Kingdom Ballers for 12 first half points. Though four other players scored, only Yohance Thompson was able to exceed 3 points by scoring 5. Four Kingdom Ballers scored 6 points or more with Chris Mathis leading all players with 7 points. Willie Tennyson blocked around seven shots. The Hawks committed seven team fouls and the Kingdom Ballers committed five team fouls. The Hawks trailed the Kingdom Ballers by one point with a halftime score of 24 - 25.
The second half continued to shift towards the Kingdom Ballers. Willie Tennyson's presence and the help from other teammates made it difficult for the Hawks to score. Three Hawks scored 6 points, one scored 5 points, and one scored 4 points. The Ballers', Willie Haynes, took the lead to score 16 points (three from 3-point range). Shederal Hughes chipped in with 9 second halt points. The Hawks were able to tie the scores at 48 and 51 behind the shooting of #21 Frank Wilcox who scored on two 3-pointers. The Kingdom Ballers went on to seal the deal by outlasting the Hawks 56 - 51.
