Thirty-two points from Lamont "No Answer For Me" Shuford was too much for the Kingdom Ballers to harness.  On 16 May 2016, the Nets and Kingdom Ballers met at North Highland Assembly of God's Church Gymnasium to get it on.  This was a good game that turned into a battle amongst future stars.  Four players, from the Nets, scored in double figures and two from the Kingdom Ballers.  We already know what Lamont Shuford, Keith LaFavor (#21), and Willie Walker (#32) bring to the Nets, but the additions of Rodney Patrick (#30), Tony Reese (#42), and Trea Tells (#25) are bringing extra energy to every game.

During the off-season, Willie Haynes (the Captain of the Kingdom Ballers) acquired Shederal Hughes (#96) to join Wason Davis (#11) and Antonio Harris (0).  He also recruited a new point guard, Christopher Mathis (#1), to steer the offense.  All of the acquisitions have improved the level of competition for the Kingdom Ballers.  I am watching this team transform to become one of the most improved teams, if the new players stay on board and allow new players to build around them.  Other teams will make every attempt to pick them up during the off-season.

The first half of play was filled with excitement.  The Kingdom Ballers scored on seven 3-pointers to keep the game close.  The Nets scored on four 3-pointers.  Willie Walker and Lamont Shuford scored 10 points, each, to lead the Nets in scoring.  The Ballers' Shederal Hughes and Wason Davis scored 11 points, each, to lead the Kingdom Ballers with striking distance.  The Nets committed seven team fouls and the Kingdom Ballers committed zero.  The first half ended with the Nets 40 and the Kingdom Ballers 31.

The second half picked up from where the first half ended.  The big difference was Lamont Shuford's 22 second half points along with 10 from Trea Tells.  Hughes and Davis did all they could to keep the game close, but they were only able to muster 25 combined points.  The Nets scored 48 second half points and the Kingdom Ballers remained steady with 32.  The Kingdom Ballers committed all of their eight personal/team fouls in the second half.  We watched one good play/shot after another, but Shuford's points added up to a comfortable win for the Nets.  The Nets outscored the Kingdom Ballers 88 - 63.

The Nets' scorers were:  #45 Lamont Shuford with 32 points, #32 Willie Walker with 16, #25 Trea Tells with 15, #42 Tony Reese with 12, #30 Rodney Patrick with 8, and #21 Keith LaFavor with 5 points.

The Kingdom Ballers' scorers were:  #11 Wason Davis with 25 points, #96 Shederal with 22, #1 Christopher Mathis with 7, #22 Antonio Harris with 4, #33 Tony McCommons with 3, #2 Darrell Sumbry with 2 points.
