On 12 May 2016, new players for the 76ers and Celtics stepped in to show that the rivalry between these two championship teams is still alive.  Cleotis "No Limit Soldier" Brown (#00) and Tony Campbell sparked the 76ers with 61 combined points in their preview of what the Finals could look like, if both teams meet there.  Steve Woodson (#2) joined the Celtics, last season, and established himself as the owner of two backboards: One on defense and one on offense.  He is joined by Christopher "Tulu" None - the team's dribbling magician and #1 assist leader.

The Celtics' starting lineup consisted of: #23 Tim Sanks, #24 Jerel Jackson, #2 Steve Woodson, #1 Al Wilson, and #15 Christopher None.  The 76ers' starting lineup consisted of: #1 Anthony Mitchell, #24 Tony Campbell, #32 William Jackson, #34 Willie Tennyson, and #00 Cleotis Brown.

Excitement started instantly as the 76ers' Tony Campbell, Cleotis Brown, and Willie Tennyson jumped out to challenge the celebrity of the Celtics' Tim Sanks, Jerel Jackson, and Steve Woodson.  Cleotis pushed the 76ers ahead with 17 points - added by 11 from Tony Campbell and 8 from Willie Tennyson.  The Celtics returned the attack with 10 points from Tim "Dr. Midrange" Sanks, 14 from Jerel "Quiet Storm" Jackson, and 8 points from Steve "The Backboard Real Estate Agent" Woodson.  The 76ers committed seven team fouls and the Celtics committed three.  This was a battle for "Big Boys Only".  The 76ers eased pass the Celtics 42 - 37 at the end of the first half.

The second half left both teams with 20-minutes to win.  Tony Campbell (#24), Willie Tennyson (#34), and Cleotis Brown (#00) scored all points for the 76ers.  Tony Cambell dropped in 15 points, Cleotis Brown demanded 18, and Willie Tennyson contributed 6 points.  The Celtics', Tim Sanks (#23), was determined to lead his team to victory over this new group of 76ers by scoring 24 points.  Six other Celtics scored, but no one over 8 points.  The opportunity to win belonged to both teams as they traded tied scores, small leads, and small deficits.  Key mistakes/decisions changed the course of the game with 54.7 seconds remaining.  The Celtics requested a 30-second timeout to gather their composure; the 76ers did not use a timeout with three remaining; Cleotis Brown fouled out with 21-seconds remaining in the game; Tim Sanks scored a 3-point shot and stole the incoming pass to score another 3-pointer to seal a lead as time ran out on this magnificent game.  Both teams committed 10 team fouls in the second half.  The 76ers scored 39 second half points and the Celtics rebounded with 50 second half points.  The Celtics outlasted the 76ers and defeated them 87 - 81.

The scorers for the Celtics were:  #23 Tim Sanks with 34 points, #24 Jerel Jackson with 17, #2 Steve Woodson with 16, #1 Al Wilson with 2, #15 Christopher None with 6, #30 Ralph Mathews with 2, #22 Johnny Vasquez with 4, and #4 Lorenzo Johnson with 6 points.
