#27 Chris Alexander shared the wealth in order to help his teammates enjoy the fruits of playing hard by recruiting #4 Bryan Short and welcoming him to the Heat and National Old School Basketball League®.  Bryan stepped in with rebounds, hustle, and 7 points.

On 30 April 2016, I watched six "Teams" compete in a game of basketball and thoroughly enjoyed what I saw.  If you have followed my commentaries, you would know that I focus a lot on teamwork and selfless ball distribution.  That is what I saw, yesterday, whether the teams won or loss.  The Heat and Bama Tru Ballers played the first game that began at 11:00 A.M.  I wanted to see if the Heat could play more disciplined basketball than they displayed during their last game against the Celtics when they abandoned team play for "Shoot'em if you got'em".  The crew that reported to play was all about the win and they demonstrated that with outstanding discipline.  Everybody accepted a role and operated within those confinements and shot the most appropriate shot.  That was basketball.

The Bama Tru Ballers is a disciplined team with gaps in some positions.  They do not give up and they are always communicating with each other with constructive criticism.  I really like that.  Saturday's game was an example of playing with those missing pieces as the Heat held them to an 18 point half and 38 point game.  Jeffery Lemon (#15) and David Hardge (#41) filled in the scoring struggles with 13 and 17 points, respectively.  This team will get better as the season progresses.  The Bama Tru Ballers committed 6 first half team fouls and 8 second half team fouls.

The Heat did not have an easy task.  Their willingness to play team ball allowed them to score 38 first half points and 24 second half points.  Felton Scott (#17) led the team in scoring with 15 first half points and 10 in the second half.  He is a scoring machine.  Chris Alexander contributed 16 game points as the team dug-in to show themselves that they can figure things out and play team ball.  The challenge, ahead, will come from getting all members to buy into this concept of "sharing the wealth" for the sake of winning.

The scorers for the Heat were:  #17 Felton Scott with 25 points, #27 Chris Alexander with 16, #4 Bryan Short with 7, #14 Tim Elder with 6, #13 David Brophy with 6, and #11 Norman King with 2 points.

The scorers for the Bama Tru Ballers were:  #41 David Hardge with 17 points, #15 Jefferey Lemon with 13, #11 Michael Johnson with 3, #21 Toney Moses with 3, and #32 Aphonzo Jukes with 2 points.
