On 3 January 2017, Tim Sanks, Marcus Watkins, and Lester Hood led the 76ers to an impressive win over the challenging Bulls. It was a hard-fought game. The Bull outnumbered the 76ers, in rebounds, 34 - 20 and led the 76ers, in steals, 9 - 3. The 76ers stepped-up their game by leading the Bulls, in assists, 17 - 14. The 76ers have definitely figured things out as they move closer to challenging the Hawks for the #1 seed and force in the Western Division.

The Bulls put on a good fight with four players raising their first half scoring. Navarro Davis (#45) led the Bulls with 16 points, (#11) Bernard Jones with 10 points, (#24) Elliott Reid with 9 points, and (#33) Ian Trowers with 6 points. With 2:21 remaining in the game, the 76ers accrued an 84 - 66 point lead to put the game out of reach for the Bulls. The 76ers defeated the Bulls 93 - 76 and moved up the "winners" bracket to 12 - 5 in the league and a close second in the Western Division.
