Last evening, on 5 December 2016, the 76ers and Bombers reported to North Highland Assembly of God's Church gymnasium to improve on their 6 - 5 records.  It was obvious, when watching the players’ warm-up, that they were on a mission to not only win, but to send a message of who's better.  The Bombers are touting to become "The League's Next Best Thing" - but they will have to show themselves worthy when playing against the former champions: 76ers.

The Bombers started the game with a flurry of points that had the 76ers scrambling.  They made the 76ers look slow and unprepared for the onslaught of fast breaks and outside scoring.  The Bombers scored 30 points from behind the arc from (#3) Tony Moses, (#22) Jimmy Foster, (#31) Demon Walker, (#38) Shederal Hughes, (#33) Chris Watson, and (#12) Jovan Ingersoll.  The Bombers' bench was bombing the 76ers following every score.  They were literally frustrating the 76ers as (#23) Tim Sanks and (#34) Willie Tennyson attempted to steady the ship by combining for 25 points.  With 8:07 remaining in the first half, the Bombers held a 26 - 13 point lead over the 76ers and were not slowing down.  Seven Bombers scored versus three for the 76ers.  The first half ended with the Bombers celebrating a 19 point lead (47 - 28) over the staggering 76ers.

During halftime, the Little Divas, representing the Kingdom Faith Ministries' Performing Arts Department, modeled their tutus as they strutted halfway down the basketball court.  The Divas ranged, in ages, from 2 - 13 and were poised to move on-cue.  The fans and players rewarded the models and leaders with an outstanding applause.

Following the halftime performance, the Bombers were ready to resume where they ended and the 76ers were ready to change the course of actions that put them 19 points in the hole.  The second half started with the 76ers drawing first blood and going on a 19 - 3 run to get within three points of tying the score.  The Bombers finally responded and extended their lead to 11 points with 7:04 remaining in the game, but Lester Hood had seen enough and resurrected his "Terminator" status.  Hood did something that I have not seen him do for several seasons and that was to takeover every area of the game by scoring 21 points, grabbing six (6) rebounds, and making three (3) assists.  Tim Sanks joined Hood by scoring 14 points, grabbing two rebounds, and making one assist.  With 1:50 remaining in the game, the 76ers tied the score at 63 - 63.  With 9.7 seconds remaining, the 76ers held a 67 - 66 point lead that they would defend until the game ending buzzer sounded.  The 76ers outscored the Bombers 39 - 19 points in the second half.  The Bombers were outrebounded 25 - 14 as they struggled to score on 3-point attempts.

The scorers for the Bombers were:  (#3) Tony Moses with 6 points, (#10) James Dix Jr. with 5 points, (#22) Jimmy Foster with 13 points, (#31) Demon Walker with 3 points, and (#38) Shederal Hughes with 21 points, (#33) Christopher Watson with 14 points, and (#12) Jovan Ingersoll with 4 points.

The scorers for the 76ers were:  (#23) Tim Sanks with 31 points, (#1) Tony Campbell with 5 points, (#45) Lester Hood with 21 points, (#34) Willie Tennyson with 8 points and (#33) Charles Faison with 2 points.
