An interesting game was played between the Bulls and Bombers on 15 December 2016 at North Highland Assembly of God's Church gymnasium.  When I see each team play, I look for growth.  Are they willing to do what is necessary to improve?  That is a serious question because they all want to win.  I can say that because I observe their actions when they fall short of winning.  As a sideline commentator, I try to share what I see and present observations based on the statistics I have, at hand.

The first half started with the Bulls and ended with the Bulls.  Ian Trowers (#33) scored the game’s first two points and is doing all he can to set the example for his teammates by scoring six (6) points, grabbing five rebounds, and blocking one shot.  He is hustling on both ends of the court and his teammates are all in.  Coach Jose Quinones did an excellent job managing the bench.  If a player was not producing, he did not hesitate to try someone else.  He was patient in his decision-making and efficient.  Seven Bulls accounted for 23 first half rebounds.  The Bombers had six players involved in grabbing 16 rebounds in the first half.  Both team had six assists in the first half.  The difference in the game came from shot selections.  The Bulls stayed close to the rim scoring on 2-point shots, but the Bombers continued to do what they do best which is to attempt bombs from 3-point range.  That has been my biggest criticism about the Bombers.  They are willing to win or lose by the 3-point shot.  Four Bombers scored during the first half with an average of seven (7) points.  Navarro Davis (#45) led the Bulls with nine (9) points to lead the Bombers, at the half, 35 - 30.

The second half was close, as well.  Both teams matched their first half scores.  Both teams grabbed 18 rebounds in the second half.  The Bulls scored on nine assists and the Bombers scored on eight assists.  Five steals, from the Bulls, definitely helped them maintain a close lead over the Bombers.  Navarro Davis stepped up, again, to lead the Bulls with 13 points (six from free throws) along with 11 points from (#24) Elliot Reid.  James Dix (#10) worked hard to lead the Bombers with 10 points along with eight (8) points from (#5) Keith Bridges.  The Bulls outscored the Bombers 36 - 31 and cemented their victory with a score of 71 - 61.

The scorers for the Bombers were:  (#10) James Dix with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 1 block, and 4 assists; (#33) Christopher Watson with 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and1 steal; (#3) Tony Moses with 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal; (#38) Shederal Hughes with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, and 2 steals; (#31) Demon Walker with 5 rebounds, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal; (#5) Keith Bridges with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals; and (#22) Jimmy Foster with 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.

The scorers for the Bulls were:  (#45) Navarro Davis with 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals; (#10) Desi Johnson with 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist; (#33) Ian Trowers with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block, 2 assists, and 1 steal; (#8) Troy McBride with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals; (#34) Leo Preyer with 2 points and 2 rebounds; (#24) Elliot Reid with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals; and (#11) Bernard Jones with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.
