On 8 December 2016, the (0 - 12) Nets said, "No More" as they competed against the Bombers for their first win of the season.  If you have attended any of the previous games, you have had the opportunity to observe the Nets as a team without the necessary discipline to get along with each other.  They would argue on the floor, bench, and following each game.  Thursday evening, Jeffery Lemons changed that perception following his appointment as the team's leader.  At least, for that game and that night, he brought a group of players together to accept their roles on the floor and bench.  Not only did he direct the group - he led them with statistics in every category of the game: points, blocks, assists, and steals.  It was great watching the growth of the players as they fought to win as a team.

I don't believe the Bombers underestimated the Nets, but if they did, they made a mistake as they fell behind and trailed the Nets 23 - 35 at the end of the first half.  Eight Nets scored, in the first half, with (#21) Keith LaFavor leading the scoring category with 10 points.  The Nets scored on six 3-point shots for 18 points.  The talented Bombers scored a surprisingly low first half with 12 of their 23 points coming from (#38) Shederal Hughes.  The Nets outrebounded the Bombers 20 to 8 and made five steals in their pursuit to win their first game.  Lemons collected six (6) rebounds and one block in the first half.  James Dix (#10) did all he could to energize the Bombers by scoring 2 points, collecting two rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

The second half produced a low scoring game with the Bombers outscoring the Nets 24 - 17.  The Bombers held the Nets to eight (8) rebounds as they collected 14 of their own.  Shederal Hughes and James Dix combined for 19 points in their efforts to rally the Bombers to a comeback win, but time ran out.  With 15.2 seconds, remaining in the game, the Nets was holding on to a 50 - 47 point lead before the Bombers missed a tie scoring 3-point attempt and the Nets securing the game with a 2-point layup.  The Nets defeated the Bombers 52 - 47 to claim their first victory of the season.

The scorers for the Bombers were:  (#3) Tony Moses with 4 points, (#5) Keith Bridges with 5 points, (#38) Shederal Hughes with 21 points, (#10) James Dix with 12 points, and (#12) Jovan Ingersoll with 5 points.

The scorers for the Nets were:  (#22) Jeffery Lemon with 2 points, (#21) Keith LaFavor with 10 points, (#14) Shawn Mathews with 3 points, (#40) Willie Fillmore with 9 points, (#32) Ramard Morgan with 7 points, (#45) Roderick Williams with 6 points, (#31) Yohance Thompson with 7 points, (#30) Demitrius Jordan with 6 points, and (#23) Travis with 2 points.
