The Hawks and Nets competed in the second game played on Monday, 21 November 2016, at North Highland Assembly of God's Church gymnasium.  This matchup put the league's #1 team (Hawks) against the league's 8th ranked team, but there are no "gimme" teams in the National Old School Basketball League.  Each team must come ready to play because each opponent is capable of winning on any given day.  Though the rosters are closed after three games, I have kept the Nets' roster open for two additional players to make them more competitive.

The game started with the Nets winning the tip-off followed by Jeffery Lemons (#22) getting fouled and scoring one of two free throws to put the Nets on the scoreboard.  Kenyatta Hardge (#15) put the Hawks up by one with a two point shot.  That would turnout to be the biggest challenge the Nets made for the rest of the half as the Hawks continued to rack up points behind the scoring of (#34) Ernest Adams with 11 points, (#22) Kevin Douglas with 12 points, and (#15) Kenyatta Hardge with 7 points.  Four additional players scored for the Hawks to help keep the Nets struggling from behind.  Keith LaFavor (#3) led the Nets with 8 points.  Six additional Nets scored with no one scoring more than five points.  The Hawks rolled through the nets 40 - 25 to end the first half.

The second half was more competitive with the Hawks edging out the Nets with a score 36 - 31.  Seven Hawks scored with Ernest Adams leading all scorers with nine (9) points.  Frank Wilcox (#10) scored on two 3-pointers along with Kenyatta Hardge, (#44) Nick Royal, and (#21) Trea Tells scoring five (5) points, respectively.  The Nets hung in there with 11 points from (#5) Alaster Anderson, seven (7) points from Keith LaFavor, and six (6) points from Jeffery Lemon.  Three other Nets scored with an average of three points.  The Hawks attained win #9 while remaining undefeated by defeating the Nets 76 - 56.

The scorers for the Nets were: (#3) Keith LaFavor with 15 points, (#22) Jeffery Lemon with 11 points, (#5) Alaster Anderson with 12 points, (#33) Darrel Willis with 6 points, (#45) Roderick Williams with 2 points, (#40) Willie Fillmore with 6 points, and (#14) Shawn Mathews with 4 points.

The scorers for the Hawks were:  (#10) Frank Wilcox with 9 points, (#34) Ernest Adams with 20 points, (#22) Kevin Douglas with 16 points, (#15) Kenyatta Hardge with 10 points, (#44) Nick Royal with 9 points, (#21) Trea Tells with 7 points, and (#33) Shaun Jenkins with 15 points.
