Two days after celebrating Thanksgiving, the Kingdom Ballers and Nets returned to North Highland Assembly of God's Church gymnasium (26 November 2016) to compete for another win and to give us another exciting game of NOSBL basketball.  The Ballers were 4 - 6 and the Nets were suited up to win their first game of the season.  This is a complete turnaround for the Nets because the team has always been a top seeded team.  Bad management and leadership communication, over the past three or four seasons, caused a big turnover of personnel and reputation.  The impact is reflected in this season's winless record following last season's #1 ranking in the Western Division.  Fortunately, the players have focused their attention on team building and team play.  I look for them to improve during the second half of the season.

The game began with a cold start for both teams.  It was obvious that they were returning from a layoff, by the low scoring and turnovers, but the Kingdom Ballers recovered faster than the Nets by scoring 36 points versus 17 points from the Nets during the first half of play.  Wason Davis (#21) led the Kingdom Ballers with 13 first half points along with points from five other players.  Darrell Willis (#33) led the Nets with six points from two 3-point shots.  The Kingdom Ballers established their lead at three and never allowed a lead exchange nor tie.

The second half would continue to be a challenge for the Kingdom Ballers as they try to overcome their biggest weakness - which is to match their first half scoring.  Not only did they fall short of matching their first half scoring, the Ballers allowed the Nets to improve, offensively, by matching their second half scoring with 30 points.  The Kingdom Ballers won the game with the exact margin of points that were accrued by the end of the first half (19 points).  Willie Haynes (#31) led the Kingdom Ballers with 14 points which included three 3-point shots.  Santonio Howard (#32) gave the Kingdom Ballers two consecutive halves with six (6) in the first half and seven (7) in the second half.  The Nets improved in every area with Ramard Morgan (#32) leading all scorers with 11 second half points and eight (8) points from Darrell Willis for 19 combined team points.  The game ended with the Kingdom Ballers 66 and the Nets 47.  The Kingdom Ballers improved their record to 5 - 6 and the Nets dropped to 0 - 10.

The scorers for the Nets were:  (#22) Jeffery Lemons with 5 points, (#40) Willie Fillmore, (#33) Darrell Willis with 14 points, (#45) Roderick Williams with 10 points, and (#32) Ramard Morgan with 14 points.

The scorers for Kingdom Ballers were:  (#31) Willie Haynes with 19 points, (#21) Wason Davis with 18 points, (#22) Antonio Harris with 4 points, (#32) Santonio Howard with 13 points, (#2) Darrell Sumbry with 4 points, (#34) Antonio Anthony with 2 points, and (#14) Anthony Chatman with 6 points.
