At 8:00 p.m. on 27 October 2016, the Kingdom Ballers and Bombers met at North Highland Assembly of God's Church Gymnasium for very significant reasons. The Bombers were playing to defend their undefeated status of 3 -0 and the Kingdom Ballers were on a quest to end their winless record of 0 - 4.
Both teams started the game on a mission to defend their teams' goals. The Bombers ended the first half with 31 to the Kingdom Ballers' 30 points. Jimmy "Champion" Foster (#22) did not disappoint the fans by scoring all 12 of his points from 3-point range. Shederal Hughes joined Foster with 9 points. The Kingdom Ballers followed the lead of Lamont "No Answer For Me" Shuford (#11) who led his team with 13 first half points along with 8 points from (#32) Santonio Howard.
The second half was a continuation of the first. It would end with a 3-point buzzer beater from Willie Haynes (#31) to send the game into overtime. The Bombers maintained a slight lead throughout the half down to a 67 - 64 lead with four (4) seconds remaining in the game. The Kingdom Ballers received an in-bound pass from the opposite end of their court and a second pass was thrown to Willie Haynes who caught the ball, turned and hoisted a jump shot towards the basket that took forever to get there when all of a sudden the ball hit the backboard and fell through the nets without hitting the rim. The gym roared in sounds of amazement as the Kingdom Ballers fought for a second opportunity to win their first game and for the Bombers to avert a loss. Willie Haynes did not stop with the buzzer beater, he carried the momentum into overtime with three more 3-pointers to help outscore the Bombers 83 - 79 to win their first game and to give the Bombers their first loss.
