The Nets and NHA Hawks finally settled the score to determine who would represent the Western Division in the Finals.  On 23 July 2016, the Nets and Hawks reported to North Highland Assembly of God's Church Gymnasium to break their 1 - 1 tie to capture the Western Division Title and advance to compete for the NOSBL National Title.

The game started at 1:00 pm.  The starting lineup was announced by Brandon Thomas.  The officials were Royzell Smith and Willie Smith.

The starters for the Nets were: #21 Keith LaFavor, #32 Willie Walker, #25 Trea Tells, #40 Willie Filmore, and #45 Lamont Shuford.

The starters for the NHA Hawks were:  #34 Ernest Adams, #11 Kenyatta Hardge, #23 Yohance Thomas, #22 Kevin Douglas, and #21 Frank Wilcox.

This was a highly charged/competitive game.  All players knew what was at stake and injected the competitive energy from tip-off to the game ending buzzer.  Lamont "No Answer For Me" Shuford and Tony Reese put the Nets on their shoulders and said, "Lets Go!".  Shuford scored 11 first half points and Reese scored 10.  Three other Nets scored with Santonio Howard lending 6 points to the cause.  The NHA Hawks were not laying back - watching the Nets have fun.  They were sharing the ball getting five players in the scoring column.  Ernest Adams and Kevin Douglas shared 16 of the team's points with 8 points, respectively.  Every point was significant because the teams were tied six times and exchanged leads six times.  The separation came with the Nets making two free throws and a 2-point shot to lead the half 33 - 29.  The Nets committed seven team fouls and the Hawks committed eight.  Personal fouls would affect the Nets more because Willie Walker and Lamont Shuford picked up the majority of the fouls.

The Second half started with the Hawks going on an 8 - 4 run to tie the score at 37.  The Nets gained the lead, again, but the Hawks responded and tied the score at 45.  They would tie four more times at 50, 52, 55, and 57 (with 47.8 seconds remaining in the game).  Willie Walker fouled out, for the Nets, with 3:27 remaining in the game.  The Hawks took the lead, late in the game, with two free throws to take a 1-point lead of 58 - 57.  The Nets called their last time out with 9.7 seconds remaining in the game.  They blew the inbound pass attempt to Shuford that led to the Hawks securing their lead and game score of 60 - 57 at the buzzer.  The Nets committed eight team fouls and the Hawks committed six.

The scorers for the NHA Hawks were:  #22 Kevin Douglas with 17 points, #34 Ernest Adams with 16 points, #11 Kenyatta Hardge with 10 points, #25 Roderick Williams with 9 points, #21 Frank Wilcox with 6 points, and #23 Yohance Thompson with 2 points.

The scorers for the Nets were:  #45 Lamont Shuford with 26 points, #42 Tony Reese with 12 points, #19 Santonio Howard with 6 points, #25 Trea Tells with 6 points, #32 Willie Walker with 4 points, and #40 Willie Filmore with 3 points.

Great game!!  Thank you for the wonderful season!!  You all gave us your best!!  Either team would have represented the Western Division with tremendous effort.  Congratulations to the NHA Hawks for becoming the NOSBL Western Division Champions!!
